Ilenkus tour UK this month
7th November 2013Ilenkus are a five piece post metal/hardcore band from Galway, Ireland. With three alternating front-men and an energetic and impassioned approach to live performances, the bands’ sound is constantly in motion and leaves little time for the audience to catch it’s breath.
In September 2011 Ilenkus released their debut album – ‘Rule By Thieves’ on Savour Your Scene Records. ‘Rule By Thieves’ wasĀ recieved positively by critics, with Terrorizer Magazine describing it as “expansive and well written”. The bandsā sound has been described as āA mix of Metal, Grunge and Noisecoreā, while being compared to acts like Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Ocean, Cult Of Luna and Botch.
After extensive touring in Ireland, including playing support for The Ocean, Rolo Tomassi, Xerath and James Cleaver Quintet, Ilenkus departed on their first tour abroad in October 2012. They co-headlined a spell of dates around the UK with fellow Irish band – Shardborne. Simultaneously, Ilenkus released a new song – ‘Ram’ and provided all attendees of the tour with free download codes.
Ilenkus spent the first half of 2013 writing and recording a new batch of songs, that are due for release early next year. During the summer of 2013 the band embarked on a month-long tour of Ireland, The UK and The Netherlands. After another Irish tour in October, supporting Swiss band – Coilguns, Ilenkus are about to leave for a UK tour at the end of November.Ā Here are the dates:
