Elles Bailey – Usher Hall – Edinburgh – 27th September 2022

Elles Bailey is currently out on tour with the myth and the legend that is Don McLean to celebrate his 50 years of American Pie and she has to pen for him. Not an easy task when 99.9% of the audience have no clue who you are. 

Elles and her guitarist were only on stage for 25 minutes but they played an incredible stripped back set and she was on top form vocally.

Being stripped right back , the tunes were more blues sounding rather than having the country rock cross over that she has with a full band.

Walk On Water (currently unrecorded) was sublime,  Sunshine City was spectacular and Walk Away was a pure tear jerker.

She let slip that she’s back on tour with a full band in 2023 (keep an eye out for a full announcement coming soon) and I personally cannot wait. 

She won the audience over and was happily signing merch after her set which seemed to be flying out. Really nice to see.
