Janus Stark – Bannermans – Edinburgh – 27th October 2022
28th October 2022 0 By Jon DeauxBloody hell it’s windy in Scottyland this evening.. I haven’t been blown this badly since that cheap hooker in Scarborough a few years back. Anyway that’s not why I’m here. (Although if the opportunity arises, I’m not going to say no).
I’m back at the infamous Bannermans for Janus Stark who are fronted by former English Dogs and The More I See guitarist, Gizz Butt.
Janus Stark were absolute fire. From the opener of Clique (from the Great Adventure Cigar album) right through to the encore of a blistering Ever Fallen In Love by The Buzzcocks, they were tighter than a PVC cat suit.
The vocals and lead guitar sols of Gizz were simply outstanding. Busting out fan favorites of Floyd (What Are You On) to new album blinders such as Clusterfuck and Reassuring.
The energy from Fozzy (drums), David (rhythm guitar) and Simon (bass) was mesmerizing. They were all having a great giggle between them and loving every minute of being on stage.
Janus Stark are incredibly entertaining and a band that should be a lot bigger than they are.
Absolutely fuckin incredible.
If you’re a fan of The Wildhearts, Thin Lizzy and The Descendants, pick up a copy of their new album Face Your Biggest Fear.
