Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Legends Def Leppard star in UK film “Bank Of Dave”.
19th January 2023This heart-warming biopic tells the true story of Dave Fishwick, a self-made millionaire who fought to set up a community bank after large-scale, elitist financial institutions failed the people in his local community in Burnley. Dave’s mission to help his neighbors survive by procuring the first banking license to be issued in over 100 years resultantly allowed Burnley partakers to thrive.
Dave began by selling vans in Burnley: once the world’s most productive and profitable Milltown, now ranking among the most deprived and neglected towns in the North of England. Dave, however, through a combination of hustle and hard work, did well for himself by lending money at reduced rates to both his customers and local businesses during the wake of the last financial crisis. After these businesses started to turn over a profit, Dave was asked to reinvest this income for them. This gives Dave an idea. Why not set up a tiny local bank that uses the local money to fund local enterprises? He will call it: The Bank of Dave.
