Kira Mac Release their Brand-New Single ‘Scorned’ & Prepare for Their Headline Summer ‘Downfall’ Tour
9th May 2023 0 By Jon DeauxDescribed by Planet Rock as “rock n roll livewires”, Kira Mac release their brand-new single, ‘Scorned’ on all streaming platforms.
The band’s eponymous frontwoman Kira Mac (a.k.a. Rhiannon Hill) explains “‘Scorned’ is about being underestimated and undervalued in a world where women are so heavily relied on and seen as weak or less than. But most of the strongest people I know are women, and they’re fiery!”
Opening with a wonderfully atmospheric guitar hook and with Kira’s ghostly BGVs setting an evocative soundscape scene, the song explodes into a high-energy, take-no-prisoners storming blues rock, complete with Kira’s trademark powerhouse lead vocals. Kira Mac identifies as a collective and plays it tight together. There’s also a soaring guitar solo, not to mention razor-sharp lyrics.
Taking their moniker from their formidable frontwoman, Kira Mac is a band built on straight-up old-school blues rock riffs given a modern edge, a lot of flair, soul, and intense double shots of rock ‘n’ roll. They form a force to be reckoned with.
Kira Mac’s raw talent and accomplished tone is built from grassroots and the love of eclectic sounds and acoustic skills. As a collective, and hive mind, they’ve absorbed influences from great bands and artists that came before them, being raised in particular on old-school rock, blues, and everything else in between.
Following on from their hit debut album, ‘Chaos Calling’, Kira Mac is laying down fresh material and touring.
As Kira herself explains, “We’ve been working away and writing since we came off the back of the last tour and we’re working towards the second album, so we wanted to let people in on a snippet of what we have been up to and also what they can expect from the next album!”
Scorned is now out on all digital platforms https://slinky.to/ScornedKM
