Rising from the ashes of a previous incarnation, Tokyo Psycho, SMILE MORE sprung to life after the Covid pandemic. Brought about by isolation and frustration, the artful metallers burrowed themselves away during lockdowns to unearth a treasure trove of material. When the gates reopened, SMILE MORE unleashed a flurry of mesmerizing live performances captivating audiences throughout the South West.
Hailing from Bristol, England, SMILE MORE has devoured the raw fundamentals of groove metal fused with a particular affection for iconic heavyweights Korn, System of A Down, and Slipknot. SMILE MORE also takes influence from heavy metal stewards, Avatar, and progressive maestros, Tool. With each band member bringing to the table a strong individual music background, the band now has a clear vision of what they want to create and how to skillfully achieve it.
SMILE MORE’s intense new single, Thank You For Having Me, is a beast of a track, and is set to plant the band on the map. Loaded with cutting riffage, boundless grooves, pounding drums, and venomous vocals, the single commands to be heard. The band comments about the motivation behind the song: “This vicious track emulates the raw emotion of being trapped inside of a prison, whether that be real or inside your head. Equipped with a steady pulse, curb stomping tones and haunting screams, you too can escape from your prison.”
