Room 11 Announce Debut E.P

Innovative South London power duo ROOM11 have announced the release of their debut EP, ‘We All Fall Down’, set for the 3rd of May 2024. In celebration, the band is holding a launch party at Signature Brew, Haggerston, on the 29th of April. As heard on BBC Introducing and Planet Rock Radio, ROOM11 promises an evening of live music featuring the distinctive sound that has quickly made the duo ones to look out for and go see live.

Since their emergence, ROOM11 has captured the attention of both audiences and critics with their unique sound. Combining old-school rock influences with modern sonics, high energy, and a touch of electronic synths, the duo delivers music that features piercing vocals, robust guitars, and catchy melodies.

ROOM11’s debut EP consists of five tracks that highlight the talents of Chrisy Finn (vocals) and Robbie Pinnetto (guitar), Recorded in Pershore, near Birmingham, with producer Dave Draper (Nickelback, Terrorvision, The WildHearts) has led to ROOM11 being featured on BBC Introducing, Planet Rock, and KROQ Radio. ‘We All Fall Down’ spits and crackles with the electrifying spirit of legacy rock anthems, all the while infusing them with a fresh, contemporary edge.

The duo’s approach to music includes an innovative no-bassist setup, using dual amps to cover a broad spectrum of sound frequencies. This setup has become a defining characteristic of their music, offering listeners a unique and engaging experience as ROOM11 takes you on a journey of the human condition in the digital age, on their debut EP ‘We All Fall Down’.

Chrisy and Robbie take up the story of how the new EP came to be:
“We decided to step out of London, as Luca Volpe (who played drums on two of the EP’s tracks) suggested we work with producer Dave Draper. Dave turned out to be perfect for our sound, understanding exactly what we were aiming for and capturing our energy on the recording, brilliantly – He is a magician and we love him!

Our sound definitely has an interesting setup. The ‘specialty’ is not having a bassist. We have to cover certain frequencies, connecting the guitar to two different amps, and, having two sounds, we are able to hit that pounding bass sound. A bit like how Royal Blood does it, except the other way around. Maybe that’s us! Royal Blood, but back to front! Ha!”

We titled this, our debut EP, the same as our first track, ‘We All Fall Down’, because it just feels so relevant especially since during the filming of our music video, Robbie very nearly crashed into a member of the public while on a skateboard. After swerving and crashing to the ground, He broke his arm, went very pale while nursing it (which can be seen in the video), and was then rushed off to hospital before passing out. Fortunately, we got the job done and it’s a blinder of a single, with the rest of the tunes on the EP, burning hot, to match it.” – ROOM11

There is so much to be taken from the songs on ROOM11’s infectious entrance. ‘Man on a Mission’ and EP title track ‘We All Fall Down’ pulses with sonic boom energy that invites us to embrace life’s ups and downs with a wide, authentic grin. The tracks celebrate the human spirit’s tenacity, encouraging us to dust ourselves off and truly dance through the challenges, reminding us of the wonder life offers when we approach it with an open mind, heart, and adventurous energy.

On the flip side, tracks like ‘Black Fly’ and ‘Backseat Lovers’ take us on a deep dive into the more shadowy aspects of the human condition, from the inner battles with addiction to the untamed territories of desire and retribution. ‘All She Wants’ sits firmly in the middle, encouraging us to take life with a pinch of salt when it comes to love’s ups and downs.

All five songs on this EP don’t shy away from exploring the crevices of our minds, but do so with an energetic vibrancy that captivates, exhilarates, and makes you want to groove hard. It’s as if ROOM11 has painted a picture of life’s complex tapestry, acknowledging the stars and black holes, but also the inspiring opportunities that make the journey worthwhile. Through their music, this London duo offers a sonic exploration that’s as introspective as it is liberating, inviting us to ride along on a dynamic journey of discovery and lead an unapologetic good life.
