Creed – Greatest Hits – 2LP Review
18th June 2024This is the 1st time the Greatest Hits album by Creed has been on vinyl let alone a double LP featuring a stunning lazer etched design on side 4 of the collection.
This compilation is pretty damned good. 13 tracks that encompass all of Creed’s U.S. singles from their first three albums: My Own Prison , Human Clay , and Weathered.
If you bought this on CD 20-odd years ago, it sounds rather compressed and a touch muddy. The good news is that this has been remastered from the original tapes and thanks to there being very little compression thanks to being pressed on 3 sides of vinyl, sounds brilliant. The etching on side 4 (which mirrors the artwork of the album) is stunning. It’s so good I’m framing my copy.Because this truly is a best-of album, there’s everything you’d expect (Higher, With Arms Wide Open, One Last Breath, My Sacrifice,) and more. Of course, it has its weak moments (as does EVERY greatest hits album, and of course, my opinions will differ to yours.) but it all sounds great. Mark Tremonti and Scott Stapp complement each other so well together.
If you’re a fan of Alter Bridge, Mark Tremonti, or Scott Stapp this is a must, and if you bought it originally and have a record deck, upgrade to the vinyl version, you won’t regret it.Craft Recordings has brought this collection back to life.
