PAUL DI’ANNO RELEASES ALBUM “THE BOOK OF THE BEAST” TODAY

27th September 2024 0 By Jon Deaux

The legendary ex-Iron Maiden vocalist marks a triumphant return with a career-spanning collection.

Paul Di’Anno, the iconic former frontman of Iron Maiden, releases his brand new album, The Book of The Beast, today via Conquest Music. This double album is available in limited edition Blood Red, Virgin White, and Cold Steel vinyl and celebrates Di’Anno’s post-Maiden career, featuring five previously unreleased tracks, alongside re-mastered and reimagined classics from his time with Battlezone, Killers, and his solo ventures.

The CD release includes a special bonus DVD, featuring rare live, promotional, and acoustic footage, giving fans a look into Di’Anno’s impressive career. A standout feature of the album is the darkly reworked versions of two Iron Maiden classics. Paul is joined by former Black Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin on a haunting rendition of ‘Remember Tomorrow’ and ‘Wrathchild’ features original Dragonforce frontman ZP Theart on a powerhouse duet with Paul.

With a career that spans over four decades, Di’Anno’s influence on heavy metal is undeniable. While the first two Iron Maiden albums (Iron Maiden and Killers) cemented his place in metal history, The Book of The Beast reintroduces fans to his solo work. Tracks like “Madman in the Attic,” “The Living Dead,” and “Children of Madness” have been meticulously re-mastered, bringing new life to these often-overlooked gems.

Di’Anno reflects on his journey and the significance of this new release: “I’m very proud of my Maiden years, but to be honest with ya, some people acted like the rest of my career didn’t matter. I’ve always said, ‘Sod ya if that’s what you think.’ Now, things are starting to turn around again.

My shows are selling out around the world and I’ve got a fantastic new album of the best stuff I’ve ever recorded so I’m well and truly back in the game!”

Despite facing severe health challenges in recent years, including life-threatening infections and extensive surgeries, Di’Anno has emerged stronger, using his time to focus on his music. “I’m a lucky bugger,” he says, “I’ve proved a lot of people wrong, and that makes me happy.” He credits his fans, family, and band for keeping him going through the toughest times.

Press outlets have already praised The Book of The Beast as a monumental return. Musipedia of Metal commented, “Is the Beast back? Well, he never really went away, and long may he continue,” while The Razors Edge said, “It feels we are witnessing the long-overdue renaissance of Mr. Paul – The Beast – Di’Anno.”

As Di’Anno himself puts it  I ain’t gonna give up. I’m a stubborn bugger”

Fans can now experience The Book of The Beast on all streaming platforms, with the vinyl and CD/DVD editions available now on all platforms.
