“Ruins” Concludes: The Bloody Nerve Release Episode 9 — ‘Assassin Of Pain’

25th October 2024 0 By Jon Deaux

The Bloody Nerve wraps up Act III with Episode 9 ‘Assassin Of Pain’ from their episodic concept album ‘All Blood, No Treasure.

The Bloody Nerve is singer/guitarist/producer Stacey Blood and powerhouse vocalist Laurie Ann Layne. Together, the duo has transformed year by year, carefully constructing their digital/analog junkyard of sound and rock energy and taking it to a new level with each new “Act” and “Episode” of ‘All Blood, No Treasure’.

“Starting this project out in 2020 we intended for it to move a lot faster” says Laurie Ann “Its tempo changes have been challenging but Episode 9 took a bit to really think through.  We’ve accumulated more gear for more sounds, we’re just always raising the stakes with ABNT.”

Stacey adds “’ Assassin’s pace is emblematic of the production of this record:  Up and down, stoic and cathartic.  What’s been exciting about this project is that each episode is a bear to start and you think ‘can we really do all of this again?’  But somehow it just all works out.

To be honest there’s just not another rock album out there like this.  Nobody is doing anything like it, and it’s felt good to hear stories of people who’ve connected with it on a deep level.”

Set in front of the archetypal dystopian jumbotron, a seeming public shaming unfolds into a shocking revelation that begins to tie various Episodes together.  A video that could easily be adapted to stage, the single setting forces the viewer into the role of a captive audience, forced to watch the evening’s programming.

Metal Talk described Episode 7 as “Goosebump-inducing inducing”
In the words of Rock At Night “This is punk-rock, alternative music to its core and at its finest, broadcasting the social messages everyone needs to hear.”

Classic Rock Magazine called “the juicily named ‘All Blood, No Treasure’… “a gnarly mix of punkoid fire, Dead Weather-esque rock and social disenchantment,”

As Paul Cash of Pure Rock Fury remarked: “The Bloody Nerve offer a contemporary twist on Rock N Roll with their episodic ‘All Blood No Treasure’ album telling a familiar story that draws you in deeper with every passing song. Familiar, because that story is happening all around us on a day-to-day basis but do you have The Bloody Nerve to listen. Slick modern rock at its finest.”
