ALERT! TWO WEEKS TO BLOODSTOCK! FINAL INFORMATION ROUND UP
23rd July 2024Tick tock, tick tock… just two weeks to go ‘til you can throw open your windows and startle your neighbors by screaming down the street that it’s BLOODSTOCK this week!!
Calling all MOTÖRHEAD fans and metalheads! Don’t miss visiting the re-creation of Lemmy’s dressing room at BLOODSTOCK, where you’ll not only be able to pay your respects at the specially-created bust containing Lemmy’s ashes, but see a whole host of genuine personal items including his iconic hat, boots, bass guitar, and hand-drawn pictures, as well as handwritten lyrics, dressing room paraphernalia, and a never-seen-before selection of his personal photos.
The bust will be unveiled on the main stage at 6:15 pm on Friday (after HATEBREED) in a special LEMMY FOREVER ceremony with festival management and the band’s Phil Campbell, before being placed in Lemmy’s dressing room, which adjoins the Rock & Metal Gallery (next to the signing tent). The gallery will close temporarily for the ceremony, and reopen shortly afterward – then including Lemmy’s dressing room which will not be viewable prior to this.
While you’re waiting on Friday though, there will be some additional MOTÖRHEAD memorabilia viewable as part of the wider gallery exhibits, and you definitely won’t be able to miss the magnificent MOTÖRHEAD bomber, which will be prominently displayed in the main arena near the entrance from the Midgard campsite. Listen out for the unmistakable MOTÖRHEAD siren, which will sound to mark the opening and closing of BLOODSTOCK this year.
Other gallery exhibitors this year include MARK WILKINSON, who will have six images on display including an exclusive Judas Priest piece, PAUL CUTTING with an array of stunning, bespoke guitars including one inspired by Amon Amarth, and the mighty KRUSHER – you never know what memorabilia he’ll dig out. There are also two 8m walls of incredible rock photography through the years from acclaimed photographers PAUL HARRIES and the much-missed ASHLEY MAILE (perhaps order a print or two to adorn your own walls), plus a wide range of art from TRAVIS SMITH, to include some legendary album covers from the likes of Megadeth and Opeth amongst others.
Row, row, row your (Viking) boat… who’s merrily looking forward to AMON AMARTH’s rampaging headline set on Sunday at BLOODSTOCK? We hear the band are looking to set a record for the biggest Viking Row EVER during their performance of the aptly named “Put Your Back Into The Oar.” It sounds like this. By Odin, get practicing!
If the giddy heights of all the glorious metal on offer aren’t making you dizzy, then perhaps a swift turn on the DODGEMS or the WALTZER fairground ride will be just the ticket. Perhaps get your friend to hold your pint during though, eh?
Speaking of pints… BLOODSTOCK is pleased to confirm beer prices have been held at last year’s £6 a pint (excluding some stronger beers/ciders). While there are many options on offer, please drink responsibly! Some of the options include dedicated bars by Timothy Taylor with Hopical Storm & Landlord, Oakham Brewery (Citra & Citra T90 – Citra widely available, with a wider cask & craft range on their own bar), Guinness, Red Bull, and Captain Morgan rum (all pirates head here for your cocktails), plus the rock n roll Jack Daniels truck, and if you’re in the Serpents Lair, look out for Amon Amarth beer (amongst all the other fine beverages on offer)! Camping headbangers should be on the lookout for a special bar with Malevolence beer by Northern Monk. Red wine fan? You’ll be able to buy Iron Maiden’s Darkest Red Wine by the glass across the bars. You’ll also find available a great range of spirits, Weston’s Cider (Stowford & Stowford Dark Fruits), award-winning Nohrlund organic cocktails (on draught in Lemmy’s, VIP, and the Sophie stage bars), Cameron’s Road Crew & Overkill, Coors (Prahva & Madri), plus loads of different guest cask and craft beers or ciders dotted around the festival.
For folks wishing to skip or reduce the booze, you’ll find plenty of options too – including non or low-alcohol beers like Holy Faith from Northern Monk (0.5%) and Bitburger Zero, but also Guinness Zero, or even Mango Cider Zero – make your way to the Lemmy’s, Guinness, VIP, and Sophie Lancaster stage bars in particular.
There are a grand total of 18 bars on site, not least the real cider bar and the 4-pinter bar (located at the end of Lemmy’s Bar, selling – you guessed it – 4 pint containers (this seems to be a popular choice with mango cider fans).
There’s also free drinking water at designated water points in the campsites and main arena, so remember to bring a refillable non-glass bottle with you and stay hydrated! For any essentials you’ve forgotten, there’s a supermarket in the Midgard campsite (and a small shop in the main arena) plus Fat Frank’s Camping Store, where for cheaps you can also get your air bed inflated for a comfier night’s sleep.
BLOODSTOCK is proud to announce this year’s charity partners. Sharing funds raised this year are THE SOPHIE LANCASTER FOUNDATION and DERBYSHIRE BLOOD BIKES. The ever-important work of THE SOPHIE LANCASTER FOUNDATION to stamp out prejudice, hatred, and intolerance everywhere is something BLOODSTOCK has been glad to support for many years. DERBYSHIRE BLOOD BIKES offers a free medical courier service to the local NHS hospitals, moving blood, human milk for premature & ill babies, biological & diagnostic samples, medication, and other urgent medical equipment wherever they need to go in the UK. Every single pound helps and we’re hoping BLOODSTOCK can give both organisations a big boost in 2024.
As part of that, BLOODSTOCK is pleased to announce the return of the very popular T-SHIRT / CD AMNESTY this year. BLOODSTOCK is pleased to welcome back 1625OUTREACH, a local service that specialises in supporting festival goers in relation to drugs, alcohol, and personal safety. 1625 will be working collaboratively with Welfare on-site – you can find them in the Midgard campsite hub or you can drop them a message on Instagram (@1625_Outreach).
1625 are available to provide…
- Free & confidential advice about drugs/alcohol.
- Harm reduction information & resources.
- Assistance in accessing additional support on site & in the community.
- Free safety resources (drink spiking covers, condoms, etc).
- A harm reduction &/or recovery centred safe space to chat.
Although BLOODSTOCK doesn’t have a high level of drug use on-site, the fest still goes to great lengths to ensure drugs don’t become part of your festival experience as they know how dangerous they can be. However, although they do everything they can to stop them from coming on-site, they know that this still happens. Understand the risks and stay safe. This short video gives some helpful information. Remember, if you’re found on site with drugs, you will be evicted from the festival. But if you’ve already taken something and feel unwell, please seek immediate help from either the medical or welfare services on site who are there to help you – no judgment.
TICKETS FOR 2025 & WHO’S PLAYING NEXT YEAR?!
Who’s playing BLOODSTOCK in 2025?! Be at the main stage after CLUTCH’s set on Friday to find out before OPETH closes the night in spectacular fashion!! All Ronnie James Dio main stage and Sophie Lancaster stage headliners will be revealed, and more!
Weekend early bird tickets (Thu-Sun) for BLOODSTOCK 2025 will be available to purchase at the box office on site for £175. Child weekend early bird’s will be £45.
Wednesday early access will also be available next year for those who want to max out their BLOODSTOCK experience – an early bird adult Wed-Sun ticket will cost £200. There is no additional cost for children under 4, or aged 4-11, to arrive with a parent on Wednesday.
This is the cheapest way to buy a 2025 ticket, with no booking fee.
From 09:00 on 12th August, early bird tickets will be available online with a booking fee. Once early birds sell out, adult standard weekend tickets will increase to £199 + fees (£224 + fees inc early access). Child weekend tix will rise to £59 + fees once early birds sell out.
Serpents Lair VIP and Campervan tickets will go on sale at 09:00 on 14th August. Campervan tickets must be bought in addition to your festival ticket and will be priced £120 without power / £240 with power. VIP ticket pricing varies depending on the package. Please note, early access on Wednesday is still under planning discussion for Serpents Lair VIP, accessible, and campervan campsites – stay tuned to socials for updates at a later date. These are expected to sell out very quickly, so if you want one, be ready!
BLOODSTOCK 2025 will take place 7th – 10th August, 2025.
Still not got your 2024 ticket?!
Standard weekend tickets for BLOODSTOCK, priced at £185 (+ booking fee) are still available in the 2024 ticket store. You can also snap up day tickets, child tickets (mini moshers under 4 yrs can come for free!), and if you want all the BLOODSTOCK you can get, add-on early arrival for an extra day of camping on Wednesday too – these are nearly sold out, so don’t hang about! VIP and campervan tickets are already sold out.
If tickets are not sold out in advance and you want to make a last-minute decision to not miss all the fun, you’ll be able to buy 2024 tickets at the box office when you arrive at a slightly higher cost – adult standard weekend tickets will be £195 (child £55 – child tickets are for ages 4-11). Parking will increase to £30 for the weekend.
