Angelic Upstarts: The Singles 1978-1985, 2CD Review
3rd February 2023From 1978 to 1985, the Angelic Upstarts released a series of remarkable and powerful singles that made them one of the most prominent voices in the punk movement. This 44 track double CD contains all of the bands A and B sides fro 1978 to 1985.
The most notable singles from this period include “Teenage Warning” (1978) with its raw, defiant attitude and fast-paced guitar.
Ad in “Never ‘Ad Nothin'” (1979), a hard-hitting, working-class anthem this cements their importance in the genre.Additionally, the band’s hits from the early 80s remain impressive, such as “I’m an Upstart” and “Two Million Voices” which is still relevant today as an ode to working-class solidarity.
Altogether, the Angelic Upstarts‘ singles from 1978 to 1985 showcase the band’s enduring impact on punk and make them an indispensable part of the genre.
