Arch Enemy – Bloody Dynasty – Limited Coloured Vinyl Edition Review

Arch Enemy – Bloody Dynasty – Limited Coloured Vinyl Edition Review

28th March 2025 0 By Jon Deaux

Clearly, just listening to an album isn’t enough anymore; now, we need it pressed onto a brightly coloured disc like a particularly aggressive frisbee. I’m referring to Arch Enemy’s Blood Dynasty, the Limited Coloured Vinyl Edition.

The record comes in a special-effect vinyl because apparently, your ears need visual stimulation, too. There’s also a bonus etched vinyl, which, let’s be honest, is an expensive coaster. But hey, at least you can stare at it while contemplating the meaning of life—or just how many versions of this album you already own.

Musically, it’s classic Arch Enemy—powerful riffs, relentless drumming, and Alissa White-Gluz growling like someone just took her parking space. Tracks like Dream Stealer and March of the Miscreants are about as subtle as a brick to the face, which, let’s be fair, is exactly what the fans signed up for.

Is the Limited Coloured Vinyl Edition worth it? If you’re a die-hard fan, absolutely. If you just want the music, you could always save yourself the trouble and stream it—though, of course, that won’t come with an exclusive coloured disc to admire. Because, as we all know, music sounds so much better when it’s on a rare pressing that you’ll be too scared to actually play (BUT you do get the CD version as well)

Blood Dynasty is a solid addition to Arch Enemy’s catalogue, offering both musical intensity and enough extras to fill a merch table. Whether you need all the bells and whistles or just want the actual music is entirely up to you.

Score 7/10 (as a side note this review is based on an actual purchase)
