Bowling For Soup – Unveil Animated Video for 1985 (BFS Version)
2nd August 2023With their second Greatest Hits album. Songs People Actually Liked – Volume 2 – The Next 6 Years (2004 – 2009) firmly on the horizon, Bowling For Soup are taking advantage of an anniversary to bring you a new twist on one of their most popular songs (many would say THE most popular).
At the end of July 2004, Bowling For Soup’s 1985 was released to the masses for the first time. It was a huge hit with chart success on both sides of the Atlantic. With the Grammy-nominated Texan pop-punk favourites – frontman/guitarist Jaret Reddick, bassist Rob Felicetti, guitarist Chris Burney and drummer Gary Wiseman – having re-recorded many of their biggest hits, including 1985, for their new Greatest Hits album, BFS wanted to do something to mark the occasion.
Bowling For Soup are very pleased to bring everyone their animated video for 1985 (BFS version). A send-up of the original 1985 video, it has a couple of twists (watch out especially for BFS bassist Rob Felicetti being mocked for being the young one in the band).
1985 (BFS Version) is also available on your streaming platform of choice now.Songs People Actually Liked – Volume 2 covers the most successful period in Bowling For Soup’s history and includes many of their biggest hits and most well-known songs. Unlike many other bands’ Greatest Hits albums, Songs People Actually Liked – Volume 2 follows on from Volume 1 (released back in 2015) in featuring all brand new recordings of all songs included on the album. “SPALV2” (for short) will be released on the 25th of August through Que-So / Brando Records.
Alongside their global smash hit 1985 and long-time favourite / lesson for life High School Never Ends, live set staples Almost and Ohio (Come Back To Texas) are present. They are alongside other favorites such as My Wena, My Hometown, and No Hablo Ingles. Check out the artwork and track list for Songs People Actually Liked Volume 2 below:

Here are some thoughts from BFS main man Jaret Reddick about the upcoming Volume 2 of their Greatest Hits:
“Having a “Greatest Hits” is one of things you sort of dream about as a kid, but deep down, it’s more if a fantasy really. Now here we are realizing our second and we have nearly made it to half way through our career.
I was nervous about these songs. Sonically, on the originals, they were already “there.” But I think like everything in our band, the years add something to the luster, and it certainly happened here!
The songs are still intact with their original selves. But I think you will feel a different energy. In a good way.”
