Brit alt-rockers, WIRD, have detailed their engrossing new video and single, Lies.

The early beginnings of London-based WIRD (pronounced ‘Weird‘) ensued during the pandemic when vocalist and guitarist Zin V desired to expand beyond his solo songwriting. By the end of 2020, WIRD had a full line-up and swiftly started to craft new material. Over the past two years, WIRD have worked diligently on building a fanbase in the London area, and are now ready to strike out to the rest of the UK. In addition to gathering a healthy band of followers, the grunge crew has also amassed a series of hearty releases. Their debut EP, Drained, which arrived in 2022, helped to lay strong groundwork for their next single, Clown, which pushed the band to a whole new level. And their recent single, Fake World, has rightly cemented their reputation as a band that deserves to be heard.

Now with a settled lineup of Zin (vocals and guitar), Austin (drums), and Kotaro (bass), the grunge rockers are destined to step up again with their new single, Lies, which is a powerhouse slab of emotive alternative rock complete with thick fuzzy guitar riffs, ferocious drumming and pounding bass tones. The track, which recalls the passion and guile of Nirvana, Placebo, and Filter, lyrically centers around issues of trust and the state of being constantly surrounded by lies.

WIRD are planning further releases, content, and shows for the rest of the year and into 2025. The trio are a band that need and will be heard, making their rise an inevitability.
