BROCARDE – Download Festival spirit hunter, and ghost bride makes her musical return

16th May 2025 0 By Jon Deaux

From marrying a Victorian ghost soldier to hunting ghosts at Download Festival and conducting a séance for Lemmy at Wacken, Brocarde is no stranger to alternative lifestyle choices or capturing headlines around the world. Now embracing her first love, music, Brocarde is back and ready to attack all of your senses! Her new single Identity Theft will be released on 16th May 2025. The track was written by Brocarde and produced by Chris Collier (Whitesnake, Mick Mars, Korn).

The sensational video for Identity Theft is in itself a stunning achievement; another twisted fairytale awaits, an orchestra of raw emotions and lyrics that make you ponder as the horror movie unfolds one breath at a time. “From the moment I wrote the song the video concept was crystal clear in my imagination, the baby crying definitely had quite a specific visual attached to it, giving a birth to a baby alien seemed to say so much and hold so many scary connotations. When I wrote the music I wanted it to possess a trance like march, hypnotising, like a journey into a world of clones, although me multiplying is a terrifying thought, even I couldn’t handle that!”

The anthemic style lyrics take the listener on a journey that starts at birth; quite literally, and marches through adolescence giving a nod to those troublesome teenage years, before landing in the present with a large dose of infectious awareness. “I struggled a lot growing up with intense feelings of not fitting in, it’s taken me so long to grow into my identity and find the confidence to share my true personality.” Brocarde explains.

Brocarde arrived on the music scene in 2019 presenting her debut single Last Supper which gained her an army of her loyal supporters. Since then, Brocarde has gone on to attract the praise of some of rock music’s biggest stars, with Whitesnake’s David Coverdale hailing her as an “electrifying, creative new artist” and describing her as “powerful stuff!” The follow-up single, Love Me ’Til I’m Beautiful, featured drums by Korn’s Ray Luzier.

Last year Brocarde’s world of horror and music collided once more when she was invited to do a Ghost Hunt at Download Festival. Taking to the Avalanche Stage in the dead of night she came face to face with some headbanging spirits who were waiting in the arena to catch a glimpse of Busted. Fresh off the Download Stage, she travelled to Germany to conduct a special séance in memory of Lemmy from Motörhead at Wacken Open Air. Festival season was a whirlwind for Brocarde, and she interviewed some of the world’s most prolific rock bands. She also hosted interviews from the black carpet at the Metal Hammer Awards in Berlin.

This year, whilst she has had some more incredible invitations, she will be also be focusing on her own work and world. Identity Theft is just the start; Brocarde is here to steal the scene. As she says, “If people are not responding to you, they are not your people. She’s got everyone’s attention now, and when she makes her intentions clear, stating simply: “What I want is an army of me”, it’s hard to see anyone stopping her.
