Call of the Wild Festival Announce the Final Line-Up for Their Second Cycle & Are Revved Up & Raring to Go for 2022

21st March 2022 0 By Jon Deaux

When Call of the Wild Festival first burst onto the circuit during its debut year of 2019, it was hailed as the Best New Rock Festival and shortlisted at the UK Festival Awards 2019.

Who could’ve known that circumstances would mean waiting a full three years for its sequel as the pandemic put life and live music events on hold? Now, though, the second coming is nigh and the Call of the Wild Festival is proud to announce its eagerly anticipated line-up and ready to win its accolades anew.

With the challenges and frustrations of rescheduling the event four times now behind them, the organisers wish to first and foremost thank everyone for their patience and support.

Festival booker Raz White explains, “There was solidarity & support within the industry like never before. Agents, Bands, Managers, Promoters: so many wonderful people, who also recognise our passion and willingness to overcome any and all obstacles to one day hosting our second Call of the Wild Festival.”

It is without doubt, one hell of a line up!

Saturday night will be headlined by those wonderful Finnish rockers Reckless Love.

Friday gets British Rock overload with those New Wave of Classic Rock giants Massive Wagons.

Thursday night headliners are the magnificently mighty hard rock band The Treatment.

If that were not enough, Upstaged are delighted to confirm that Motörhead legend Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons will be headlining the Kilmister stage on Sunday evening.

“It’s been my dream to work with this band,” says Festival organiser Dave O Hara, “and with it being our Kilmister stage — named as a tribute to the great man, Lemmy — which is also sponsored by Motörhead Beer, it doesn’t get any better than that.”

Call of the Wild Festival is proud to be introducing almost 70 bands, over 4 days on 3 stages with established bands travelling from as far afield as the US, Scandinavia and Europe to complement a multitude of the best of UK homegrown talent.

Additional VIP places have also been released. These will be extremely limited and tend to go very quickly. A VIP ticket allows early entry and access to the VIP welcome party, with exclusive performances from Ey Up Maiden, AllStarJamSesh & Sisters of Spin DJ set featuring Tina Culbertson & Caz Parker, plus a VIP lounge area with a free Motörhead Beer bar from 11am – 1pm each day, and 10% off official Call of the Wild merchandise.

Like many other events, festivals, venues and anyone working in our industry, Call of the Wild Festival has faced a truly difficult 18 months. Having to postpone 2021’s event was devastating, given that it was so close to the lifting of COVID restrictions. The news that funding has come from the Supporting Grassroots Live Music Project Grant is not only heartwarming and welcomed; it’s also the biggest compliment to be recognised for doing exactly that: it’s what we do on a daily basis.

Is this the best Grassroots rock festival in the UK? We certainly think so. Why not come and join the Wolfpack? You’d be barking mad not to.

Call of the Wild Festival is held at the stunning location of Lincolnshire Showground, Grange-de-Lings, Lincoln LN2 2NA, on the weekend of the 19th May – 22 May 2022.
