Trauma 2013

America’s Power/Thrash Metal Band Trauma have reformed and have completed the recording of new material. Trauma you may well remember to be the Band that Metallica‘s late Bass Player Cliff Burton played with prior to playing with Metallica.

Burton, best known as legendary Metallica bass player who made use of distortion and special effects. It was a sad day on September 27, 1986, when at the age of 24, Cliff Burton died when the band’s tour bus over-turned, only four years after he joined Metallica. It was Burton‘s early influence that helped create their unique sound for which the band has become so famous he played on the first 3 Metallica albums Kill em all, Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.

Trauma performed never before heard songs penned by Cliff Burton himself, at a special event that was held on the 10th February, to mark Cliff‘s 51st birthday. The event took place at the Brick & Mortar Music Hall in San Francisco, California.

You can listen to Cliff playing in Trauma from 1982 below.
