‘Combat Ready’ book celebrates forty years of The Clash
19th May 2022Originally released in May 1982, forty years ago, âCombat Rockâ is the final album from The Clash of Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon. Featuring two of the bandâs most well-known songs, âShould I Stay Or Should I Goâ and âRock The Casbahâ, plus favoritesâ Straight To Hellâ and âKnow Your Rightsâ, it is both their biggest selling album and highest-charting set in both the UK and US.
To celebrate there will be a special edition of the album, titled âCombat Rock / The Peopleâs Hallâ, which will be released today, on 20th May. It couples the album with an additional 12-tracks compiled by The Clash. It will be released in double-CD, triple-vinyl, and digital formats.
To coincide and celebrate this, also released now is the new book all about the making of and influences that created this classic album, called ‘Combat Ready’. Written by author and Clash aficionado, Tim Satchwell, the book contains 210 pages of insight, interest and imagery for any fan of The Clash, and ships with a ‘Combat Ready’ poster and patch as well as other punk rock extras.
