DD Verni – Dreadful Company – Review

12th August 2024 0 By Jon Deaux

Overkill bassist DD Verni unleashes the album Dreadful Company and it’s a captivating journey into the depths of rock, metal, and pop punk. With each riff, Verni draws you in with a sound that is intense and sleek but don’t expect to hear full-on Thrash metal.

This album exudes a gritty allure, blending heavy grooves with just the right touch of melody, pulling you deeper into its grip. Each track is a display of hard rock seduction—guitars wail with primal hunger, while the bassline pulses like a heartbeat in the throes of passion.

The vocals, rugged yet bewitching, glide over the music like a lover’s whisper, promising untold secrets and forbidden pleasures.

Songs like “The Whore With The See Thru Shows” and “Cemetery Safari” are darkly enticing, capturing you with their magnetic hooks and seductive rhythms.

The album’s production is as polished as it is gritty, capturing the raw energy of a late-night encounter, where every beat feels like a tantalizing caress. Dreadful Company is more than just an album—it’s an immersive experience, a flirtation with the darker side of rock that will leave you longing for more. Verni skillfully keeps you on the edge, teasing you with every track, and by the end, you’re left breathless, yearning for another listen.
