Deadspawn return with maleficent new album, Bile Of The Gods – blazing blackened death!

8th January 2025 0 By Jon Deaux
Deadspawn are back! The Phoenix, Arizona purveyors of the darkest and most devastating blackened death metal are ready to unveil their second full-length studio album. The five years since the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, Pestilence Reborn, have been punctuated by the release of a single, a split release, and a live set, but this is what fans have really been waiting for – the second, full outpouring of their twisted tales of insanity from beyond the veil, set to the darkest and most gloriously horrifying soundtrack of otherworldly might and magic…Bile Of The Gods is here!To say that Deadspawn has surpassed the bludgeoning fury of Pestilence Reborn with the poisoned elixir of Bile Of The Gods would be a gross understatement. While that first album was undoubtedly a fine piece of work, one which encouraged lavish praise from metal critics around the globe, Bile Of The Gods is simply on another level. Each song is a meticulously crafted nightmare, shocking force, and haunting melody enshrouded in an all-encompassing atmosphere, imperious individual performances bringing ghastly life to supremely creative visions. At the album’s heart the vicious fury of ‘Architect Of Atrocity’, its serrated blades ripping at your skin from a thousand angles, nestles conspiratorially beside the hypnotizing majesty of ‘Graveline’, whose final resounding drumbeat and following the second of silence is simply awesome. ‘Catharsis’ then bleeds into the silence that follows ‘Graveline’, slowly turning its still waters crimson. And there is so, so much more…the cascading rain of notes that usher in the blackened hurricane of ‘A Harrowing Pantheon’, the incendiary assault of ‘Eyes Of Savior’, riding in on a blazing inferno of violence…this album will enthrall you and consume you, leaving you humbled by its power.

Immaculately mastered by Phil Pluskota (Dååth, Wormhole, Vulvodynia, etc) and adorned in the superb artwork of the infamous Jon Zig (Deeds Of Flesh, Defeated Sanity, Gorgas,m etc), every element of Bile Of The Gods is of the very highest standards. When Deadspawn unleashes this beast from the black on January 24th nothing will stand in their way!
