Dragged Under Reveal “Brainwash Broadcast” feat. Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath)
2nd September 2021 0 By Jon DeauxSeattle metalcore band Dragged Under have announced that they will be playing Download Festival 2022 on Saturday 11th June. They will be playing the Avalanche Stage along with Funeral for A Friend, Creeper and a host of other great bands. Following the festival performance, they will also be taking part in their own four-date UK tour (Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, London) and they will finish at Brixton Academy, London supporting The Ghost Inside.
Recently they revealed their brand-new track Brainwash Broadcast feat. Spencer Chamberlain (Underøath) and right-now they are in the middle of a 30-date US tur with Beartooth.
Talking about the new track they say “Brainwash Broadcast isn’t a hyper nuanced allegory, it’s a journal entry on the media sensationalism that we endure everyday. You can hear the same story from 2 different outlets with competing ideologies, and think two completely different things. It can be hard to decipher satire from real life news some days because of how inundated we are with subjective opinion pieces and click bait headlines. We have a problem with division and fear, and our media and ‘journalists’ are at the center of it.”
Last month they released the We’ll Do It Live EP via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group, kickstarting their year in explosive style. Watch the video for “Hypochondria (We’ll Do It Live).” In 2020 they released their debut album, The World Is In Your Way (mascot Records). The album has over 13 million collective streams to date and picked up support from BBC Radio 1, Kerrang Radio as well as Kerrang Magazine, who said “their blend of chest-beating melodic hardcore, thrashy punk, serrated tech-metal and swaggering punk rock is utterly irresistible,” Rock Sound offered “viciously catchy… full-on foot-stomping anthem, with a huge earworm of a chorus and plenty of rough and ready riffing to boot,” whilst Distorted Sound hailed it “a savage, stompy rager… an exciting start to a career.” Elsewhere they picked up supporters from Loudwire, Guitar World and Alternative Press named it as one of 20 debut albums that took Metalcore to the next level in 2020.
Talking about coming to Europe, frontman Tony Cappocchi says; “For many of us, travelling to Europe was always on our bucket list, but we weren’t sure we’d ever get to actually do it, so to be able to have our music take us to the other side of the world to play festivals we’ve only ever dreamt of attending is humbling.”
