The line-up for Endless Spite:
A lot has changed since Obey Cobra tore the roof off our very first Endless Hum gig back in 2022. Cardiff’s best noise export have been rightly picked up by the renowned Rocket Recordings label (home to the likes of Goat, Gnod and Teeth of the Sea) and released their latest LP ‘Mwg Drwg’ earlier this year. Their sound has always been a difficult one to pin down, merging elements of krautrock, psychedelia, shoegaze and electronics together to form a formidable live show only visible through a thick layer of feedback. They’ve always been a highlight for us and finally, they return to Shipley.
Cowtown:
As one of the longest running bands to come out of Leeds infamous DIY LS6 area, Cowtown have continued to craft their off-kilter, garage-punk for what must be nearly two decades! With four killer albums under their belts at home on the likes of Gringo Records and Domino Records as well as a plethora of long out of print early releases, Cowtown’s back catalogue is extensive but well crafted. Steadily churning out bangers and never waining in popularity, consistently radiating posi-vibes with nostalgic nods to the likes of Devo, Chinese Stars and Ex Models. It’s frankly about time we had them on.
The Sex Maniacs:
The Sex Maniacs return to play their 2nd gig in roughly 20 years! Featuring members of noteworthy legends of the Leeds punk scene Voorhees, The Horror and Gentlemans Pistols. The Sex Maniacs were mainly active in the early 00’s playing Punk Rock’n’roll influenced by the likes of Black Flag, AC/DC, Stooges, Outcold and Turbonegro.
Having only ever released one album on Eccentric Man Records back in 2003 titled ‘Mean as hell’ and toured it with the likes of Scissorfight and Dukes of Nothing. What a time to be alive.
Weekend Faithful:
From Newcastle and playing their first ever gig in Yorkshire, Weekend Faithful offer a little respite playing wonderfully anthem-filled, function room rock that your dad would probably love and in the vein of The Hold Steady, The Pixies and Bruce Springsteen, featuring members of Irked, Drifts, Night flowers and Fast Blood.
Machiavellian Art:
A maximalist blowout of sax-honking noise rock, doom metal, hardcore punk, and shoegaze, with industrial noise, howling vocals, paranoid rambles, and pure disdain for oneself and the rest of you layered on top. ‘Indoctrination Sounds’ was released last year through Riot Season Records (home to Shit & Shine, Gnod and Acid Mothers Temple).
Formed in 2006 OS were once regulars in the Leeds DIY scene but haven’t played these parts in years! Previous releases were through the well respected Gringo Records, Audacious Art Experiment and Sea Owl. Expect nothing less than frantic stroppy guitars, heavy grooving bass, twisted grooves and ambient droning.
Tiger Island have been peddling their power-pop loving garage punk rock around venues of West Yorkshire since 2022. Fuelled by massive riffs, pounding drums and tunes you can actually dance to, often compared to the likes of Sleater-Kinny, Hot Snakes and the Murder City Devils.
Cellar Messiah:
Bradford/Leeds based newcomer’s featuring ex-members of Rent Boys and Jon Jones & The Beatniks Movement. CM blend elements of psych, shoegaze and krautrock to throb the soul. For fans of Gnod, Obey Cobra and Thee Oh Sees.
The Breedling:
The brain child of Chris Spalton; The Breedling takes an inquisitive, DIY approach and attitude to the way sounds are manipulated. His latest album on Wrong Speed Records takes primal noise music and mixes it with qualities of doom, drone and electronica.
