Enforcer are back with their 3rd album 'Death By Fire' which is being released via Nuclear Blast Records on 1st February 2013. Now, it's not very often that you are asked by a record label to review an album that takes you back 15 or so years to your youth but this is exactly what has happened here.

The album kicks off with a soft instrument intro 'Bells of Hades' which soon turns into the onslaught of 'Death Rides this Night' which is just pure balls out good ol' fashioned thrash – you have the double kickers, the speedy riffs and solos, the 80s style vocal…..awesome!

Next up is 'Run for your Life' which is no slower than 'Bells…', the riffs are catchy, the solos are phenomenal, this is exactly what metal was like back in the days of bands such as Mortal Sin, Sacred Reich, Skid Row, Forbidden etc.

Truthfully, I had not heard Enforcer (I know, I know – I hang my head in shame) before hearing this album but going off what I have heard with this album I will be making sure I have the previous 2 albums in my collection.

Thrash metal is back and just as good if not better than before! There are loads of thrash bands coming through now, as well as Enforcer, you have bands like Angelus Apatrida, Havok – the list goes on….

To try and sum this up then, if you take Metallicas 'Kill em All', mix it with a bit of Megadeths 'Killing is my Business…' and then chuck in a dash of Skid Row, Agent Steel and Ratt in for good measure then you would have something similar to this outstanding album.

A truely awesome album well worth every penny. If you are new to thrash then this is an excellent starting point, if you were there back in the day like me then this should take you back a few years!

9.5 out of 10
