Formed in 2002 by guitarist and composer Mark Jansen, Epica is a Dutch symphonic metal band renowned for fusing operatic grandeur with heavy, progressive metal. Fronted by the powerful and versatile Simone Simons, the lineup also features Coen Janssen (keyboards), Isaac Delahaye (guitar), Rob van der Loo (bass), and Ariën van Weesenbeek (drums). Over two decades, Epica have become genre pioneers with critically acclaimed albums like The Divine Conspiracy and The Quantum Enigma, performing on world stages and collaborating with full orchestras and choirs. Their 2025 release, Aspiral‘, continues their tradition of philosophical and cinematic storytelling, cementing their place as one of symphonic metal’s most innovative forces.

Aspiral showcases Epica‘s signature blend of symphonic grandeur and metal intensity, with a production that is both polished and dynamic.
