FESTWICH 30th & 31st July St Marys Park, Prestwich Manchester
3rd August 2016We were lucky enough to be asked to cover this superb, fun-filled family festival.
With 2 days, 3 stages and plenty of sunshine this was set to be a great weekend.
The main stage standing proudly central dominating the back of the field, outlined with bright lights and hi-tech equipment made it stand out so majestically, in between the fun fair rides and food stalls.
Crowds flocked to the gates queuing to get into this marvellous event, enthusiastically squealing at the amazing line up this festival has arranged for throughout the weekend.
There was definitely a buzz of excitement in the air.
Families of all ages dancing and twirling, people with their faces painted chanting along to bands such as ‘Bon Jovie’ and ‘Reet Hot Chilli Peppers’ , people crowned with floral head dresses feeling free and uninhibited as they soaked up the music in the glorious sunshine over the weekend.
People chattering excitedly in between bands while sound check was taking place ready for the next band, people recalling bands they had just seen on stage already reliving these moments with friends.
Between each band a small voice would ring out across the fields from the monitors shouting ‘one..two…one…two’.
Crowds waving inflatable guitars and saxophones in the air, then the anticipation building up as one band leave the stage and a new one enters.
Bands such as ‘Mainly Madness’ confidently bound about the stage, the crowds roar transfixed on this group as they play classics such as ‘Our House’, to which echoes across the fields as everyone sings along.
All in all this has been a superb event, with so much going on catering for all ages and with tickets being FREE (you only pay for postage) what more could you ask for?
We would like to thank the organiser Jools and his crew for allowing us this fantastic opportunity to cover this event and we look forward to next years, same again please!
