GAMA BOMB share new charity single and music video, ‘ A Coffin for Christmas’

22nd November 2024 0 By Jon Deaux

GAMA BOMB has today shared a new single and music video, titled A Coffin For Christmas, with all revenue donated directly to MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières, also known as Doctors Without Borders). A Coffin for Christmas is GAMA BOMB‘s first-ever Christmas single, and in suitable GAMA BOMB fashion, the song tells of Santa delivering justice to the worst world leaders of 2024. Fans can support MSF by downloading the song via Bandcamp here, GAMA BOMB has also released a special t-shirt via O Merch – with all proceeds from both going to the charity.

Of the single, Philly Byrne (vocals) comments: “After a year of some very ‘naughty’ behavior by a few prominent world leaders, don’t we all wish Santa would deliver them more than just a bag of ashes this Christmas? Couldn’t he maybe deliver some justice too? That’s what this song is all about.

“We’re donating the song’s production budget as well as all associated Bandcamp and merch sales to Doctors Without Borders, who do incredible work to help people in war-torn places like Gaza and Sudan. We hope you’ll join us in supporting them, and that you’ll enjoy this nasty little Christmas cracker of a song as much as we do. Resistance is Yuletide.”

The video for A Coffin For Christmas is the first GAMA BOMB visual to be produced, directed, and edited entirely by Philly Byrne, with the story taking place on Christmas Day 1992. Inspired by GAMA BOMB‘s favorite TV show, Father Ted, the band celebrates the holiday together with a new toy – a camcorder. Featuring James Stewart’s (Decapitated)’s last in-studio performance for GAMA BOMB on drums, A Coffin For Christmas rings in the festivities in true GAMA BOMB fashion, with the clip being equal parts hilarious, ludicrous,s and retro.

Alongside the A Coffin for Christmas release, the band has also recently announced two Irish shows in support of Alien Ant Farm this week. Fans in both Belfast, NI, and Dublin, ROI can see GAMA BOMB on the following dates:

November 26 – Limelight – Belfast, Northern Ireland
November 27 – Academy – Dublin, Republic of Ireland
