Graspop Metal Meeting unleashes second string of names

11th December 2019 0 By John Deaux

On the heels of the announcement of next summer’s headliners and an initial batch of more than 70 names Graspop has confirmed another string of exciting acts for next summer’s 25th XL edition. The four-day metal fest takes place from Thursday 18 through Sunday 21 June 2020 at the Stenehei festival grounds in Dessel, Belgium.

In addition to the 78 bands that were announced earlier including headliners Iron Maiden (Thursday), Faith No More (Friday), Judas Priest (Saturday) and Aerosmith (Sunday), 14 great acts are now being added to the roster.
PHIL CAMPBELL AND THE BASTARD SONS are coming back for seconds. From 1984 to 2015 Phil was the lead guitarist for Lemmy Kilmister’s Motörhead and since the demise of the legendary band he has been touring the globe with his three sons. In 2020 they’re planning a special show under the monniker ‘Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons plays Motörhead’.
Last year THE HU were a sensation at Graspop and the marquee was way too small so we invited them for the second year running to wow the metal masses again with their distinctive hunnu rock punctuated with throat singing and traditional Mongolian music.
Musical millipede DEVIN TOWNSEND is also dropping by this year. Whether as a member of Strapping Young Lad, with the Devin Townsend Project or solo, the master musician never ceases to amaze with his musical exploits. From jazz across prog to seething industrial metal, Hevy Devy aka ‘The Mad Professor’ brings a bag of tricks that’s second to none.
Also confirmed for GMM XL 2020: BLACK VEIL BRIDES, BLUES PILLS, BRITISH LION (with Iron Maiden chief Steve Harris), CEMETERY SUN, CRYSTAL LAKE, DEATH TO ALL, FIRE FROM THE GODS, MICHAEL SCHENKER’S TEMPLE OF ROCK, NORTHLANE, TEMPT and THE DEAD DAISIES.

Tickets to GMM XL 2020 are available via ticketmaster.be and proximusgoformusic.be at the earliest opportunity.
