Indiana Trio The Cold Stares UK Tour Dates + Share “Nothing But the Blues (Live & Stripped)”

9th June 2023 1 By Jon Deaux

The Indiana trio, The Cold Stares, have been winding their way around the streets of Europe for the last two weeks, electrifying audiences along the way. At the halfway point of the tour, today they release the live favourite of “Nothing But the Blues (Live and Stripped)”, which you can listen to HERE.

The European tour continues today in Malmö, Sweden and tomorrow in Falkenburg, Sweden, before heading to three dates in Germany in Halle, Hagen, and Oberhausen. They then return home before heading to the UK in July for shows in Sittingbourne, Southampton, and London, finishing with a headline performance on The Phoenix Stage at Made of Stone Festival in Maidstone. Tickets are available HERE.

Talking about the tour so far, singer-guitarist Chris Tapp says,” We’ve been amazed by the turnout and enthusiasm of the fans on this run, and we can’t wait for the next shows in Sweden and Germany. We are also super stoked to return to the UK in July for a few dates and headlining stage 2 Saturday at Maid of Stone.”

“Nothing But the Blues” became a fan favorite and a live-show staple before it was officially released. The live and stripped version was taken from their radio and record store promotion tour of the US. The song is taken from their latest album ‘Voices,’ released in March via Mascot Records.

Self-produced by the band and recorded almost entirely over just two days with engineer Mark Needham (Taj Mahal, The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Walk the Moon, Fleetwood Mac), ‘Voices’ stands as The Cold Stares’ most mature, eclectic collection yet, balancing gritty muscle and tender emotion in equal measure. The band released multiple videos from the album in The JoyNothing But The Blues,  Throw That Stone and Got No Right (live).

“We approached ‘Voices’ as each song being an idea for a film,” Tapp explains. “I think they still work well together but provide the listener a little bit more of a journey through the course of the album than we’ve provided in the past.”

This week, their song “One Way Outta Here” – from the album ‘Head Bent’ – was the featured track on episode 3 of the final FX season of Mayans, and tunes from their albums turned up everywhere, from ESPN and TNT to the hit video game Cyberpunk 2077.

Live is where the band truly thrives, and they’ve flexed that muscle on the road with the Rival Sons, Larkin Poe, Reignwolf, Spoon, Grand Funk Railroad, and Thievery Corp, among others. Chris Tapp (vocals, guitar), Brian Mullins (drums) and Bryce Klueh (bass) have a stage presence of electrifying authenticity. It is not one to be missed.
