Jizzy Pearl’s Love/Hate – Punk Rock Fiesta! CD Review

Jizzy Pearl’s Love/Hate Punk Rock Fiesta! is here, and frankly, I haven’t heard this much screaming since I last looked at my bank statement. Now, you might be wondering, “Jizzy Pearl? Isn’t he that guy from that band with the song about drinking too much?” Congratulations, your memory still works—unlike most Love/Hate fans’ livers.

Jizzy is still belting it out like a man half his age. His vocals on this record? Pure fire. Like actual fire—dangerous, unpredictable, and something you should never try to recreate at home. From the opening track You’re Gonna Burn, it’s clear he hasn’t mellowed with age. The guitars are razor-sharp, the drums hit like a tax bill, and the bass is thicker than the plot of Fast & Furious 27.

Eye for an Eye—classic punk sleaze, proper fists-in-the-air stuff. If you don’t feel like punching someone (or at least throwing a pint) during this song, check your pulse.

Didya Think You Could Fall in Love? slows things down a bit, which is great because after the first few songs, I needed a breather and possibly a defibrillator.

Can’t Be Wrong? Is the sonic equivalent of an angry ex texting you at 3 AM—dark, intense, and not something you should ignore.

Darren Housholder’s guitar solos are nothing short of incendiary, while Christian Kimmett’s bass lines and Dave Moreno’s drumming lay a rock-solid foundation that keeps the whole chaotic ensemble from derailing.

Is Punk Rock Fiesta! going to redefine rock music? No. Is it going to make you want to down a bottle of whiskey and start a bar fight? Almost certainly. It’s loud, brash, and full of the kind of reckless spirit that makes rock ‘n’ roll worth listening to in the first place.

So, if you like your music fast, furious, and likely to wake up your neighbors, this one’s for you. If not—well, there’s always Ed Sheeran.
