King Creosote announces “Any Port in a Storm” tour of UK coastal towns and islands
18th January 2024At the tail end of last year, King Creosote released the excellent I DES, his first album in seven years. The record’s kaleidoscopic musical terrain plots vibraphones, accordions, e-bows, samplers, ungulates, pipes, scratched records and wine glass-drones across its landscape. But there’s common ground in the wonder of the synthesiser – not to mention Kenny Anderson’s singular voice, and his roguish, roving, ever-evolving, gorgeous songs in the key of Fife.
Following sold-out shows in London and Edinburgh including two performances at Queens Hall, King Creosote is pleased to announce the “Any Port in a Storm” tour of Scottish and Northern English coastal towns and islands as well as performances at Norwich and Norfolk Folk Festival and in Liverpool. The band will also play at Celtic Connections in Glasgow later this month.
Alongside the announcement, King Creosote is pleased to share the wonderfully charming new short film Live From EartH Hackney directed by Greg Barnes (Black Country, New Road: Live at Bush Hall). The four-track film features live performances from his headline 4-piece show at London’s EartH Theatre alongside some idiosyncratic solo performances shot in his hometown of Crail.
