Landmvrks – The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been Album Review

Landmvrks – The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been Album Review

18th April 2025 0 By Laura Jane

Set for release on the 25th April 2025, Landmvrks‘ release their latest album, The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been’. ‘The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been’ is the French metalcore band’s fourth studio album since their debut release in 2016 (Hollow). The current lineup up for Landmvrks consist of Florent Salfati (Lead vocals), Nicolas Exposito (lead guitar/backing vocals), Paul Cordebard (Rhythm guitar/backing vocals), Rudy Purkart (bass/backing vocals), and Kévin D’Agostino (Drums).

Landmvrks have been around since 2014 and were formed in Marseille, and continue to push the boundaries on what they can deliver. I would go as far as to say thatThe Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been’  has been one of their strongest releases to date and confirms that Landmvrks‘ are able to adapt and evolve their music since 2016 to become the titans in the music scene that they are quickly becoming.

Notable tracks on the album include ‘A Line in the Dust’ (featuring Mat Welsh from While She Sleeps), ‘Blood Red,’ ‘The Great Unknown,‘ and ‘Requiem‘. These tracks, although different in dynamics, show the capabilities of musical talent in parallel with a top-tier production quality, which brings a crisp sound to the album. I’ve always been a sucker for a good metalcore album, and so far in 2025, this would be in the running for currently one of my favourite releases of the genre so far. It has everything that you’d expect from a metalcore-centric album; it has the slow, heavy breakdowns, the raw aggression, and the melodic, complementary vocals and melodic hooks that will stick with you for hours after listening to a track. What more could you ask for really?Landmvrks recently released the official music video for the featured track ‘Blood Red‘.

Overall, the album scores an 8.5/10 from me. The album showcases Landmvrks ability to fuse melodic metalcore with electronic elements alongside displaying the outstanding vocal scope and skills capable Florent Salfati. The versatility shown throughout the album is impressive. I would highly recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of While She Sleeps, Architects, Northlane, Polaris, Bury Tomorrow, Beartooth, and Wage War.

Score 8.5/10
