MAYDAY PARADE DROP “SWEET” – THE FIRST OF A THREE-PART NEW ALBUM & NEW VIDEO

18th April 2025 0 By Jon Deaux

With their milestone 20th anniversary year in full swing, Mayday Parade – Derek Sanders, drummer/vocalist Jake Bundrick, guitarists Alex Garcia and Brooks Betts and bassist/vocalist Jeremy Lenzo –  will release the first part of their highly anticipated new three-part studio album titled “SWEET

Led by the shimmering single “By The Way,” Sweet captures everything fans love about Mayday Parade — soaring hooks, heart-on-sleeve lyricism, and a dynamic blend of piano-led grooves and guitar-fueled anthems — while confidently expanding their sonic palette. Fans will also find the band continuing to nudge the edges of their sound outward, whether they’re stomping through reflective alt-rock (“Who We Are”), crafting wryly sardonic pop-punk (“Who’s Laughing Now,”), standing up shimmering arena rock (“Natural”), or melding muscular, grungy guitars with electro-pop shine (pre-release single “Pretty Good To Feel Something,” which the band brought to tens of thousands of listeners across the country as headliners on Sad Summer Festival 2024).

Recorded with longtime producers Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount, Sweet is the band’s first self-released full-length since 2006’s Tales Told By Dead Friends, the EP they famously sold by the tens of thousands in Warped Tour parking lots, and their first album since 2021’s What It Means To Fall Apart. It arrives just ahead of their massive Three Cheers For Twenty Years North American tour, kicking off April 22 and promising career-spanning sets packed with fan favorites, deep cuts, and new material.

The Tallahassee five-piece — Derek Sanders, Jake Bundrick, Alex Garcia, Brooks Betts, and Jeremy Lenzo — continue to show why they’re one of the most enduring acts to rise from the underground, evolving with purpose while staying true to the connection that’s carried them from Warped Tour parking lots to festival stages around the globe.

With more than 1.43 billion career streams, a gold-certified debut album (A Lesson In Romantics), platinum-selling hits like “Jamie All Over,” and countless festival appearances (When We Were Young, Sad Summer, Riot Fest), Mayday Parade remains a defining force in pop-punk.

Sweet is out tomorrow. Two more chapters to follow later this year and into 2026.
