Metalcore newcomers “Trauma Therapy” to release debut single “Fix My Heart”
31st July 2024On August 23rd, emerging metalcore band Trauma Therapy will make their mark on the scene with their debut single “Fix My Heart”. Drawing from personal battles with mental illness and the journey of healing, Trauma Therapy brings a sound message that resonates universally.
“This song is about real-life experience as a patient in therapy. It also depicts a little bit of life outside of the office with everyday happenings and events that happen/could happen while coping/healing. It also provides input as to what life is like for some people (myself included) with the everyday struggles of dealing with trauma and healing. Anything from mental breakdowns to feelings of laziness or numbness in life. Some of the video depicts a time when I personally was medically put on antidepressants and did not like how they made me feel. That leads into the scene of me flushing them down the toilet.” -Chris Carrington (Vocalist)Trauma Therapy, a four-piece band from Charlotte, North Carolina, draws inspiration from bands such as Bad Omens, Dayseeker, Motionless in White, and others. Fronted by singer-songwriter Chris Carrington, the band was established in late 2022. Three of its members are transplants: Chris hails from Chicago (Northwest Indiana), guitarist Ayden Augustine from Buffalo, New York, guitarist Travis Ely from Rochester, New York, and Aaron Kirkland proudly represents the Carolinas (Gastonia, NC).
“Trauma Therapy embodies its name in more ways than one. Drawing directly from Chris’s personal experiences, much of our material is inspired by real-life events that prompted Chris to seek out a trauma counselor. Through our music, we aim to resonate deeply with our fans by sharing these stories. Our goal is to offer solace and hope to those facing similar challenges, using music as a powerful tool for healing and connection.” -Trauma Therapy on the story behind their name.
Trauma Therapy has had the privilege of collaborating with outstanding producers for all our material, including Pangea Productions (Killakoi), Cody Weissinger (The Funeral Portrait), Will Baker (Hollow Intent), Colt Crevar (Forever May Fall), and more. Working with this diverse range of producers allowed Trauma Therapy to cultivate a unique sound where each track bears each member’s individual influences and creative touches.
