Mia Klose Interview – HRH AOR festival 2013
Interviewed By: Matt
Mia’s debut album is out now called “London”, and is a melodic triumph along the veins of Femme Fatale, Vixen. Upon interviewing Mia she reminds me in attitude and passion of Doro Pesch, and if Doro’s the Queen of Rock, maybe there’s a new Princess…….
So Hi Mia,
Tell us about yourself, how long have you been performing?
“I’ve been performing since I was three years old so quite a long time, I started to record the album at the end of 2011 and then I released the album in August last year and since then it’s kept on going up, and the response has been amazing from the press with the reviews its all been more than I could have imagined”
Have you more tours scheduled?
“Yes we have more show’s booked until June and then end of June to play Sweden Rock and we’re opening for Kiss and that’s a dream come true, after that we’ll record a new video for a new single from the album and then after that it will be to play as much as possible before we think of recording the next album, so that’s the plan”
So have you any new songs?
“Yes we played two new songs last night and we are writing for the second album and you never know because as you write one song you think is good you then write a better one, and we are aiming for the second album to be great. The song’s we write I feel are getting stronger and stronger and you obviously want the best, the new songs so far are really cool”
Who else besides Kiss are your inspirations?
“I take my inspiration from a wide range, Gwen Stefani over this side and Slayer from the other side, I just make them meet in the middle, what suits my voice is the softer rock, the melodic side that’s what lies closest to my heart. I love Samantha Fox and Gwen Stefani but I also love Metallica and Slayer”
Who else would you like to share a stage with?
“I’d like to tour with Motley Crue, Guns and Roses, Kiss , Aerosmith and Van Halen and I’ll be Headlining! ( smiles )”
Great Ambition!, So you are going to be really busy over the next months,
“Yes, but the music is like 7%, the other time is answering emails, and making sure everyone is in the right place at the right time”
And have you seen anyone here so far?
“Well I’m really looking forward to see Kip Winger today because I’ve never seen him live, and then I did mostly interviews yesterday but today I’ll see more bands”
Thanks for your time Mia and enjoy the rest of the festival
“Thank you too”
