MODIGLIANI – THREE DAYS ON THE WING OF MADNESS A FILM DIRECTED BY JOHNNY DEPP

Directed by Johnny Depp and starring Riccardo Scamarcio (A Haunting in Venice, John Wick: Chapter 2) in a tour-de-force lead performance, MODIGLIANI – THREE DAYS ON THE WING OF MADNESS is a personal and universal tale of art, love and rejection told during a whirlwind seventy-two hours in the life of bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani, set for UK theatrical release on July 11^th.

June 27^th sees the release of the film soundtrack via Cadiz Music/IN.2 Records, on double vinyl, CD and digital. Compiled and curated by Johnny Depp, it features tracks from music icons Tom Waits, The Velvet Underground & Nico and British Brechtian Punk Cabaret trio, The Tiger Lillies, alongside dialogue from the film and original music composed by Sacha Puttnam and arranged by Steve McLaughlin.

The film, which had its World Premiere at the San Sebastián International Film Festival,  features a stellar supporting cast including Antonia Desplat (Made In France, Shantaram), Bruno Gouery (Emily In Paris), Ryan McParland (upcoming Channel 4 series Pushers, Say Nothing), Luisa Ranieri (Parthenope, The Hand of God), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy), with Stephen Graham (Adolescence, Boiling Point), and Academy Award® winner Al Pacino (The Irishman, The Godfather trilogy).

A seventy-two-hour whirlwind in the life of bohemian artist Amedeo Modigliani (Riccardo Scamarcio), known as ‘Modi’ to his friends, follows a chaotic series of events through the streets of war torn Paris in 1916. On the run from the police, the desire to end his career and leave the city is dismissed by fellow artists Maurice Utrillo (Bruno Gouery), Chaïm Soutine (Ryan McParland) and Modi’s muse, Beatrice Hastings (Antonia Desplat). Modi seeks advice from his art dealer and friend, Leopold Zborowski (Stephen Graham) — however, after a night of hallucinations, the chaos in Modi’s mind reaches a crescendo when faced with an American collector, Maurice Gangnat (Al Pacino), who has the power to change his life.

MODIGLIANI – THREE DAYS ON THE WING OF MADNESS has special preview screenings in cinemas nationwide including an exclusive “In Conversation” discussion with Johnny Depp, Waldemar Januszczak plus special guests on 10 July 2025. The film is released in UK cinemas on 11 July 2025.
