MOTIONS SET TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘RUNNING FROM YOU’ – 21ST FEBRUARY 2025
19th February 2025Motions are set to release their new single ‘Running from You’ on February 21st 2025.
In writing and recording Running from You, the band were inspired by several bands old and new. There’s a clear and obvious love for Deftones, fused with the modern edge of bands such as Static Dress and Knocked Loose.
The band state: “Running from You’ is a letter to the self, and a meditation on the compulsive urge to stray from our true selves in fear of failure. It explores the pressure we all feel to be the best version of ourselves as the negative, intrusive thoughts take hold. We structured the track in a way that would emphasis these emotions, with the juxtaposition of brutal verses and soaring choruses as symbolizing the internal battle.”
Motions are a 4-piece melodic metal band from Teesside. Deftones-esque, with a modern metalcore twist, their self-titled debut album released to critical acclaim. Spreading their metal wings across the UK, they recently supported Skindred on their sold-out tour, as well as playing alongside Graphic Nature, Thrown, Heriot, and Trash Boat.
In 2023, Motions’ singles were selected for 3 official editorial playlists on Spotify: ‘Metal UK,’ ‘Walk Like a Badass’ and ‘The Pit.’
Their singles ‘Six 100‘ and ‘Redeemer’ were both played on BBC Radio One’s Introducing Rock Show with Alyx Holcombe. Further, BBC News featured the launch of their debut, critically acclaimed album on vinyl, covering its production process and release.
