Oceanica announces new EP “Try Not To Dwell On It” out July 2025
18th March 2025OCEANICA, the solo project of award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist Benedict Harris-Hayes, is set to release a new EP titled “Try Not To Dwell On It” in July 2025 on Bandcamp, CD, vinyl, and limited-edition spatial Dolby Atmos.
This 21-minute composition explores themes of personal reflection and loss, following the passing of a close friend and collaborator. The EP reflects Harris-Hayes’s deep emotional journey, blending progressive and post-metal with rich sound design.
“Try Not To Dwell On It” was a challenging project for Harris-Hayes, both creatively and personally:“This is, quite probably, the most creatively challenging project I’ve ever undertaken. It was born from the passing of a friend and collaborator, and I had to find a way to finish this record for that person… as well as myself. I became somewhat obsessed in doing this, and I found that even in Death, there is Life. It took me on an incredible journey through technological development and cutting-edge audio use to achieve this record, and I cannot be more proud of that journey.”
Harris-Hayes, known for his work with MASS!VE DYNAM!C and ENOCHIAN THEORY, has earned recognition for his musical versatility across various genres. With OCEANICA, he blends progressive rock and metal with electronic textures and emotive songwriting.
