Psykosis – Mind Games – Album Review

I didn’t listen to Mind Games — I relapsed into it.

Psykosis doesn’t just play thrash — they unzip it, spit in your mouth, and dare you not to flinch. This record isn’t a collection of songs. It’s an orgy of riffs, a manic, sweat-soaked grind session in the red-lit backroom of your skull. Every track feels like slipping into something you shouldn’t — tight, fast, and dangerously familiar.

The guitars? They don’t riff — they thrust. They are a piston. They pound. Downstrokes so furious they leave burn marks. It’s like being bent over a Marshall stack and made to repent. Solos hit like sudden fingernails in your back — sharp, uninvited, and impossible to forget. By the time they finish, you’re aching, half-numb, and begging for more.

Vocals snarl like a lover who’s seen your browser history. Filthy, knowing, and unashamed. The kind of voice that presses against your ear in the dark and says, “you missed this, didn’t you?” And God help me, I did.

The rhythm section is pure kink. The bass slaps like a dominatrix with somewhere to be. The drums ride you hard, relentless, all toms and tight-snared punishment — no safe word, no brakes, just rhythm until you’re delirious and dripping.

There’s a track halfway through — I won’t say which — where I genuinely blacked out for a second. Came back to consciousness, sweating, heart racing, pupils blown wide like a first-time sinner at a leather bar. I don’t know what they did to me. I just know I want them to do it again.

Mind Games isn’t an album you hear. It’s one you wake up next to. Bruised. Gutted. Happy. Guilty. And somehow, still not done. Psykosis doesn’t ask for consent. They just leave the door unlocked.
