Red Method – The Old Cold Store, Nottingham, Jan 31st 2025
2nd February 2025On Friday, January 31st, I made the trip down to Nottingham to finally catch a band I’ve been eager to see live for a while now—Red Method. But before I dive into their set, I have to give a shout-out to the other bands that shared the stage that night.

Frame The Hero
Kicking off the night was Nottingham’s own Frame The Hero, a local band with a solid opportunity to make an impact. While their energy on stage was commendable, their setlist felt somewhat disjointed, and the transitions between songs—filled with overpowering backing tracks—made it difficult to hear the vocalist’s engagement with the crowd. A bit more cohesion in song choices and a more polished off-stage presence could really elevate their performance in the future.
Wolves Don’t Sleep
Next up is the unstoppable force that is Wolves Don’t Sleep. The second they struck their first note, I knew we were in for something chaotic in the best way possible. Their stage presence was electric, immediately pulling the crowd into their world. With a well-structured set packed with emotion, crushing breakdowns, and serious intensity, they brought the exact energy I’d been waiting for. Without a doubt, these guys have secured a spot on my “must-see-again” list.

Anti-Clone
Then came Anti-Clone, and wow—what a spectacle. I’ll admit, I wasn’t familiar with their material beforehand, but after this performance, they’re definitely making it onto my playlists. Their eerie (in the best way) stage presence, led by an utterly captivating vocalist, was impossible to look away from. If Marilyn Manson and Korn had a musical love child, it would be Anti-Clone. Unfortunately, their set was cut short due to a technical issue that couldn’t be resolved, which was a real shame. Hopefully, I’ll get the chance to see them in full force next time.

Red Method – The Main Event
Finally, the moment I’d been waiting for—Red Method. I’d been hyped to see them live for a long time, and they did not disappoint. You might assume they’re just another band using stage outfits as a gimmick to mask average music, but let me assure you, that’s not the case here. Super heavy, super tight, and genuinely hilarious.
Every track had me itching to jump into the pit (if only my back could handle it these days!). Between face-melting riffs, gut-wrenching vocals, and absolutely brutal breakdowns, they delivered everything I could have asked for. The crowd was also treated to a brand-new, unreleased song—“Counting Corpses”—and if this is a taste of what their next album has in store, then my god, it’s going to hit hard.

On stage and off, Red Method knew exactly how to command a room. They weren’t just the headliners; they were the true main event of the night. I absolutely cannot wait to catch them again later this year!
