Roxette – Help! (Abbey Road Session November 1995)

8th May 2020 0 By John Deaux

In these days of seclusion and confusion, this digitally unreleased pearl is very much needed. Roxette paid homage to The Beatles on a sunny day in November 1995 at the Abbey Road studio in London. “Help!” is the first taste of the “BAG OF TRIX – Music from the Roxette Vaults” album series that will pop up when you least expect it. Enjoy!

Per Gessle from Roxette…

“We landed from the mighty “Crash! Boom! Bang! World Tour” in May, took a short break for the summer then straight back to the studio in Stockholm to record four new songs for our first compilation album “Don’t Bore Us – Get To The Chorus!”.

The album came out in the autumn and to promote it we decided to do a small gig at Shepherd’s Bush in London and also to record some acoustic songs at the Holy Grail of studios; Abbey Road, to be broadcasted by the BBC in England.

We were (still are!) in awe of The Fab Four so being at Abbey Road we couldn’t help ourselves but make our own version of The Beatles’ “Help!”.

It was a great day, pop history in every corner and an amazing feeling to take part of the Abbey Road legacy. All smiles in the Roxette camp.”
