Sabaton – Heroes

Sabaton – Heroes

28th April 2014 0 By Mark Booth

SABATON release their 7th studio album ‘Heroes’ and the first album with the new line up of guitarists Chris Rörland and Thobbe Englund and new drummer Hannes van Dahl. ‘Heroes’ (like recent previous releases) has been recorded in Abyss Studios and produced by the legendary Peter Tägtgren, so has an amazing crispy production.

So just who are SABATON? Well they are a power/heavy metal band from Sweden who lyrical contents mainly draw from historical wars and battles and famous leaders and heroes from said battles. If you already love SABATON then you know exactly what to expect on this release as they are synonymous for sticking to their guns! If your new to SABATON then they play pure power metal gold with historic and heroic tales from wars past, don’t sound good to you then stop reading as SABATON aren’t for you. However if you don’t mind some power metal then definitely check out ‘Heroes‘ as you won’t be disappointed, already a SABATON fan then lick your lips as they have released a pure gold album here!

Heroes’ is 10 songs of memorable, rousing, sing-a-long anthems that will have you tapping your foot, banging your fist and head and singing along before you know it. ‘Heroes‘ concentrate on World War II and represents all sides of the conflict with dignity and praise. ‘Heroes‘ is 37 minutes of pure SABATON class and goes back to a more deadly panzer metal attack, I thought ‘Carolus Rex’ (which is a good album and the only other SABATON album I’ve heard) was a little to keyboard dominated.

So SABATON release another album and you will either absolutely love ‘Heroes’, despise the album and SABATON or you can just ignore the release and go on with your life not knowing how great SABATON are! I would recommend you pick this album up and give it a go to see where you stand as I am sure you won’t be disappointed.
