Describing the creative process, the band shares: “The song’s inception came from a feeling of loss. Missing someone. Losing someone. The opening visions a person floating in water. Weightless. But with the weight of the world bearing down. As the song intensifies, as do the waves. The subject is now struggling physically and emotionally. The physical waves mirror the waves of loss and devastation. As the song peaks, the heaviness of the music mirroring the heaviness of the moment. The subject’s struggle peaks. The abrupt end signifies the individual succumbing to their feelings, yet surviving to continue floating… but the anger builds.”
