Storm Orchestra – Get Better – CD Review

24th March 2025 0 By DJ Pixie

Storm Orchestra are currently riding high on the success of their previous independent release, they now eagerly anticipate the launch of their new album ‘Get Better’ released under the Mascot Label Group on April 11th!.

Working closely with their record label ‘Mascot Records’, they have meticulously crafted an outstanding album that will blow your socks off!

Between the band and the label organization delivering this outstanding album to various platforms ensures the band’s music reaches a wider audience, amplifying the band’s artistic vision which will hopefully be a huge chart success.

Storm Orchestra’s new album ‘Get Better’ marks a significant departure from their 1st album which was an independent release, designed and produced with the help of an amazing and supportive team behind them to ensure that the band puts nothing but the best music out onto the music scene.

The band says ‘Writing and producing rock music isn’t always the fastest process – especially in a world where artists are expected to constantly put out new stuff – but we stayed true to ourselves by making this quick and spontaneous. We poured everything into this record, making it raw and introspective, just the way we wanted.”

While their signature vocals and intricate guitar work are still present, the band has embraced a more expansive and experimental take on this new album.

The album’s raw energy is still there with more upbeat songs like Bright Soul which they have evolved their sound and explored new sonic territories with lots of ethereal sounds which give it that layer of mystique and make it sound otherworldly. With lots of reverb-drenched synths, and shimmering guitar effects this track gives off the sound to make you feel you are suspended in a dreamlike state. A very atmospheric track.

As the songs are awash with subtle electronic textures and pulsating basslines, this album creates a truly immersive listening experience, vocals from singer/guitarist Maxime Goudard are prominent producing songs that will really get stuck in your head. Like in the song ‘Drummer‘, where he sings ‘Have you ever, felt so much pain, that you gotta dig inside your brain, have you ever exploded like champagne, that you gotta be a drummer’. Very deep meaningful lyrics that slam you into the chorus.

The fast-paced Crush The… Chunk! No Captain Chunk!is a firm favourite. Really chaotic, and driven by a relentless flurry of drums – not just a simple backbeat but a multi-layered percussive assault.

This is not an album to sit still to, it’s an album that physically compels you to move, bounce, and get lost in the sheer unadulterated fun of the beat.

Score 9.5/10
