About Stranger Vision
Stranger Vision is an Italian power prog metal band founded in 2019 with the ambition to create a unique, intense, and deeply personal sound. Their music balances power, technique, and melody, drawing influences from the epic sounds of bands like Savatage, Blind Guardian, Symphony X, and Dream Theater, but reinterpreted through a
distinctive style that avoids excess and banality.
Their debut album, *Poetica* (2021), was released during a period marked by pandemic restrictions, which prevented the band from promoting it live. Despite this, *Poetica* resonated strongly with audiences, offering an artistic light in challenging times. The forced pause became an opportunity to work on new material, leading to *Wasteland* (2022), a concept album inspired by *The Waste Land* by T.S. Eliot, commemorating the poem’s centennial. With *Wasteland*, Stranger Vision evolved their sound, blending modern metal and prog elements into a more compact and direct style, enriched by orchestral influences.
The album features remarkable collaborations with artists like Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) and Tom S. Englund (Evergrey), who contributed their voices to key characters and poetic nuances within the album, making each track an intense musical and narrative experience.
On November 8, 2024, Stranger Vision released their third studio album, *FAUST Act I: Prelude to Darkness*, an ambitious work inspired by Goethe’s masterpiece. The album delves into complex themes of the pursuit of knowledge, love, and redemption, and features a special collaboration with James LaBrie (Dream Theater), who lends his voice to one of the album’s most significant tracks.
Since its founding, the band has continued to grow, bringing their music to European stages and garnering increasing international acclaim. With a promising future and an ever-evolving discography, Stranger Vision is poised to leave a profound and lasting mark on the international metal scene.
