Over the past few months there’s been a bit of a stint of  releasing long deleted Suzi Quatro albums as box sets and it’s not really surprising as 2022 celebrates 58 years of Suzi in the music bizz.

The record label 7Ts have done a great job releasing 2 sets totalling 5 discs. The Albums 1980-1986, 3CD Box Set (comprising of expanded versions of Rock Hard, Main Attractions and Unreleased Emotion) and the double CD set of Back To The…Spotlight (featuring expanded versions of Back To The Drive and In The Spotlight).

Despite these 5CDs not being the best of Suzi’s almost 6 decade output, they are a decent slice of her more commercial era (as firmly demonstrated by the cover of The Troggs Wild Thing featuring Reg Presley.

The remasters are exceptional the bonus tracks are a nice edition and as for the liner notes, they’re fairly comprehensive.  Are these worth a a purchase? In all honesty if you’re a completist as well as your originals being a little worse for wear, YES. Of course having the singles of this era as bonus tracks is actually really nice and handy. 

However, If you’re looking for some hard rocking Suzi, purchase her last couple of albums as she’s firmly back being a rock n roll chick. 

Hats off to 7Ts for bring these albums back from the deletion bin and producing excellent product.
