Tarja – My Winter Storm – 15th Anniversary – 2LP Review
23rd November 2022After Tarja was “let go” by Nightwish she had nothing to lose and everything to gain. When My Winter Storm was initially released it was an instant success. My Winter Storm has gone on to sell in excess of 650,000 copies worldwide as well as giving Tarja the 1st gold disc of her career. Now, 15 years later it gets a remastered facelift.
This double LP doesn’t just look the business (it’s translucent blue) it sounds the bollocks too.
The album was already spectacular with such songs as Lost Northern Star with its massive choir, Our Great Divine with its orchestration along with, Tarjas take on the Alice Cooper track Poison.
The massive bonus that comes with this anniversary vinyl is the inclusion of 3 bonus tracks (Enough, The Seer (featuring Doro Pesch) and Wisdom Of Wind)
This new cut breathes just that little bit of extra life into it. The orchestral arrangements soar and complement the vocal stylings of Tarja incredibly well.
My Winter Storm contains all the elements you expect and more from the debut album of the former frontperson of Nightwish.
This 15-year anniversary edition has turned a classic album into a masterpiece.
