THE COLORADO TRIO – FEATURING TWO DRUMMERS ON A CONJOINED KIT – RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM A MILLION KNIVES  ON 14TH FEBRUARY 2025 VIA EASY EYE SOUND

UPCOMING LP INCLUDES THE BAND’S “ON AND ON,” JUST NAMED A ‘SONG YOU NEED TO KNOW’ SELECTION BY ROLLING STONE

The Velveteers have shared their new single “Bound In Leather” – the final advance offering from their upcoming full-length A Million Knives, out February 14th via Easy Eye Sound. The Colorado trio – featuring tour-de-force frontwoman Demi Demitro backed by dual drummers Baby Pottersmith and Jonny Fig – use vintage disco grooves and spellbinding falsettos to pursue rock n’ roll’s non-binary, queer and female-fronted future. “Bound In Leather” is an ode to transcending one’s own confines, complete with the band’s signature “monstrous sound” (Under The Radar) and “buzzing pile-driver” (SPIN) energy. To celebrate, The Velveteers also appear on the cover of the Zane Lowe-curated New Music Daily playlist today at Apple Music.

“Bound In Leather” follows The Velveteers’ release of “On and On” last month – a rallying cry against rampant misogyny in the music industry – which was named a Song You Need To Know by Rolling Stone and a “best of” selection by outlets from Guitar World to GLAADPaste noted that: “Demitro is one of the most exciting frontpeople in rock ‘n’ roll.

“To me, ‘Bound In Leather’ feels like looking through a kaleidoscope,” says Demitro. “It’s a song about feeling bound in your skin, the chorus in part being inspired by a type of dysphoria. Feeling trapped by your own skin and wishing you weren’t bound by its limitations here on earth. It also has many themes of feeling guarded and needing someone to prove their trust to you, ’cause they aren’t going to win it over so easily.” The Velveteers wrote “Bound In Leather” with Greg Cartwright (The Oblivians, Reigning Sound) and seven-time GRAMMY® winner Dan Auerbach in Nashville. “When we started coming up with the lyrics, I was singing and Dan kept telling me to sing higher and higher. Singing falsetto is something I don’t normally do but it just felt really right for the song,” Demitro explains.

In addition to “On And On,” the trio have also previously shared “Suck The Cherry” from the new album, filled with “high-octane, scrappy spirit that captures pure rock n’ roll at its most unfiltered” (Luna Collective) – as well as “Go Fly Away,” which the group first shared in an extensive feature with Billboardhttps://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/the-velveteers-a-million-knives-black-keys-collaboration-1235797540/

The thirteen-song collection was penned by The Velveteers after a particularly grueling stretch of life on the road – while navigating the typically-unspoken tolls of an industry that can be far from compassionate. A Million Knives follows The Velveteers’ 2021 debut album Nightmare Daydream, which quickly found them playing stadium stages with Smashing Pumpkins, Guns N’ Roses and more. Starting next month, the trio will bring the new album across the Western U.S. for the first time – kicking off with a sold-out album release party at Denver’s Hi-Dive on February 14 before continuing onto Los Angeles (The Echo, March 13), Austin (Empire Control Room, March 22) and a dozen more cities.
