Those Damn Crows – La Belle Angele – Edinburgh – 22nd March 2025 – Gig Review

24th March 2025 0 By Jon Deaux

Saturday night, La Belle Angele, Edinburgh—Those Damn Crows came in to a sold out show, cranked the volume up to max, and left no survivors. My ears are still ringing, and I think I accidentally learned Welsh from all the singing.

La Belle Angele is this cool, intimate spot that is perfect for a night of loud, in-your-face rock. Fun fact: It burned down in 2002 but made a comeback in 2014. You know a place is dedicated to music when it literally rises from the ashes like a rock ‘n’ roll phoenix.

The first song Lets Go Psycho hit like a shot of espresso straight to the bloodstream. The guitars screamed, the drums shook the floor, and Shane Greenhall had the crowd eating out of his hand from the first note. This dude moves like a mix of a rockstar and a personal trainer—bouncing, running, getting everyone fired up.

They tore through their set with a mix of old favorites and new fire includeing, Who Did It, Sin On Skin , Glass Heart and Kingdom Of Dust ,just to name a few.

Every song was a knockout. At one point, the crowd was singing so loud I swear we scared a few pigeons outside. There were lights flashing, heads banging, and at least three people who forgot their voices in the venue by the end of the night.

I saw middle aged men hugging and jumping like they just won the lottery—it was beautiful. If you walked out of that show with energy left, congratulations, you might be a robot.

If you get the chance to see Those Damn Crows live, do it. Just be ready for a sore throat, ringing ears, and one of the best nights of your life.
