Venerea – Last Call For Adderall
30th May 2016Venerea first were part of the Swedish mid-nineties punk boom, and created quite a name for themselves with the release of some classic albums (such as 1998’s We Shall Overcome, and 2003’s Out In The Red) and extensive touring of Europe including a number of festivals. They’ve been quiet for the last few years, but now they’re back with their first album since 2010’s Lean Back in Anger.
Last Call For Adderall is a 14 track album of hook-driven skate punk. It’s fast and it’s furious, with the band sounding as fresh as they did back in the late 1990’s. There’s no filler here and each of the 14 tracks has something different to offer. This is the perfect music for drunken summer BBQ’s and for jumping around like a loon.
The band are clearly giving it their all, and each of them is given ample opportunity to show what they are capable of. Check out ‘The Final Wall‘, to see exactly what I mean –
Venerea have created a fantastic album of feel good punk rock and if you’re a fan of old school hardcore / skate punk then this is definitely worth checking out – awesome stuff!
